How do we secure your data?
When you donate a laptop to IT Services at CAS Ltd, we understand you need to ensure that your data is being securely dealt with.
We take this part of the process very seriously, and we take several steps to ensure that your data is safe in our hands.
- All laptop hard drives are replaced with brand new hard drives – no hard drive left in the laptop gets recycled to the end users who may purchase the reconditioned laptop.
- Whilst your laptop is being worked on, all laptops are stored in locked rooms in security enabled buildings, protected by alarms, CCTV and external security companies.
- All hard drives are wiped or destroyed, in line with WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) regulations, by a trusted specialist third-party company, who destroys your data (either physically or digitally) to the very highest standards that the UK’s MOD (Ministry of Defence) adhere to.
- We provide a documented report confirming the secure destruction of your data.
