The Project

For some time now we’ve looked at launching a reconditioned laptop project and we are delighted to now launch it.

We have 3 stated aims for the project.

  1. To become an income generator for our parent charity Community Action Suffolk
  2. To play our part in improving the environment and to reduce waste
  3. To provide low cost devices to individuals, groups and charities

Initially the project is going to be a limited pilot project which will initially look to sell between 10-15 laptops. The learnings from this pilot will then inform us about if and how we can expand the project beyond the pilot – with the intention that we continue on providing reconditioned laptops in the long term.

Each laptop will be professionally checked over, a brand new hard drive installed and fully tested before selling. All of the pre-existing hard drives will have their data professionally destroyed in line with government requirements and cerificated evidence will be provided.

These laptops are available to both individuals and organisations.

As it stands we are not looking for donations of laptops but in the coming weeks and months we will be publishing more information about how you can potentially donate your old laptops. Please note, there will be a minimum specification that we will require for any donations.

If you want to purchase our laptops please visit https://suffolkonline.net/products/reconditioned-laptops/.

In time we hope to launch our own online shop, Ebay page and other online marketplaces where these can be bought, but for now these laptops can be purchased directly through myself, on a first come, first serve basis by contacting me at matthew.morling@communityactionsuffolk.org.uk or by phone at 01473 345321 or by completing the simple order form on the product page.
