To find out how much space a particuler folder is taking up simpy right click over the folder and go to properties it will then calculate and tell you how much space is being used.

We would say that anything above 16gb would need an external hard drive. either western digitial or seagate are good brands but most of them are pretty reliable.

Plug in the device and windows should tell you it has found a nice device and once it has finished installing it should be ready for you to start copying the files across.

A. Locate the folder you wish to backup/copy. Right click and go down to Send To then locate your pen drive or external hard drive, Normally its labelled as Removable Disk (X). Where X is the drive letter that windows has been assigned to your pen drive or external hard drive.Simply click on this and you will see windows copy the files across.

Once you have copied all the files across you want. Simpy go to start and My Computer or Computer. Right click over your removable pen / exterrnal hard drive and click safley remove.Make sure you have no other windows open. Other wise this may prevent you was removing the disk. You follow this in order to stop damange to you data.
