If you are finding that your computer is having problems and that you are unable to get access to Windows you can use this program to try and restore your computer back to an earlier point in time where your computer was working.

Windows XP

1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore.

2. On the welcome screen click Restore my computer to an earlier time, then click next

3. On the Restore Point Page, Select a restore point thats in bold text, on the calender over on the left hand side.

Click Next and you should see this next screenshot where you can select a date in Bold

Select a date that nearest to around your time your computer was last working. It should display in the right hand box what the lsat thing that your computer done e.g System Checkpoint or Software Installed then click Next.

Once this has been done the system restore software will ask you to confirm that you wish to continue and if so then close any programs that you have open and reboot your PC.

Once the reboot has taken affect and windows has restarted it will tell you if the restore has been successful. if so you should be able to carry on from where you left off and the problem started. If this   solve the problem you may either have to repeat these steps again and choose an earlier date or ring us at the   for further advice.

Windows Vista / 7

This section is for System restore on a Windows Vista / Windows 7 PC. You can start Windows Vista / 7 System by clicking on start and typing in the search field System Restore and press enter. As show below

You should then see the following screen as below. On this you simply need to click on the next button

You ahould then see a list of restore points, select one that was previous to where the problem may have started from and click on next.This may be in date order or showing the latest restore point at the top.

You will then see a confirmation screen about which drive you are going to be restoring and to what point it will be restored to. Simply click finish and your computer should restart. It again like in Windows XP tell you if the restore has been completed successfully or not.
