This guide will help you through the basics to Setup your broadband router.

1 x Power adapter

1 x Phone Line Cord + ADSL2 + Filter
Smart CD (You shouldnt need to use this when you setup as we will have already done this for you)

  1. Connect the power port on the back of your modem/router to your power socket.
  2. Connect the DSL splitter to your phone socket.
  3. Connect the VDSL port on the back of your modem/router  to the Modem port on the DSL splitter.
  4. Connect the Phone port on the DSL splitter to your telephone handset

If you purchased your router from Suffolk Online then this should all be preconfigured and you should be able to just plug it in following the instructions above and then connect your device to the new wireless network – with the details of these being on a label on the base of the router.

If you have since reset your router then follow the instructions below.

1. Open your browser and in the address bar type http://192.168.1.1 and press Enter.

2. Enter admin for both the username and password and click Login.

3. You will be asked to reset your password. Please do so and ensure you make note of the password as this is very important to keep.

4. After your successful login, click Quick Setup in the menu. Click Next to start Quick Setup.

5. Select your Region and Time Zone from the drop-down list, then click Next.

6. Select that you want to configure the router yourself rather than using the “auto setup”. click Next.

6. Select your Internet Provider from the List. In here we recommend using Other. click Next.

7. Select VDSL if you are on a Fibre service and ADSL if you are on a standard broadband service when selecting the options from the “Type” box. Enter in 0 as the VPI and 38 as the VCI and PPPOE if you are on a Fibre Services and PPPOA if you are using a standard broadband service. If it asks you for VLAN ID (especially if you are on a Fibre Connection) then type in “101”. click Next.

8. Enter your Suffolk Online broadband Username and Password. Click Next.

9. Do not enable 3g/4g backup. Simply Click Next.

10. You can change your Wi-Fi details or keep the default settings. The default Wi-Fi SSID (Wireless Network Name) is WiFi-XXXX (XXXX is a random 4 digit alphanumeric code printed on the sticker underneath your modem). By default, the WiFi password is printed on a sticker underneath your modem (Wireless Password/PIN). Click Next to continue.

11. Confirm all parameters are correct. Click Back to modify or click Save to make your configuration effective.You will see the Complete screen, click Finish to complete these settings.
