Following our recent email about an increase in spam levels that many of you has noticed, we are pleased to say that we hope to have a temporary solution now in place, with a medium to long term solution in the pipeline.

It appears that spammers have been adapting their techniques in recent weeks and we are having to adapt our own email systems to deal with this. As a result of this we hope to have been able to change the systems to mark many of these emails with the phrase [spam] in the subject. This will then allow you, the user, to add an easy message rule to divert these emails straight into the deleted items without you ever seeing them.

Dealing with spam is a never ending battle and we can't promise this will remove or mark all spam but it should help with the vast majority.

In due course we will be putting in a more permanent solution which will involve more enhanced content filtering of emails but there are no timescales on this currently but rest assured we will be working on this as soon as we can.
