Stuck in the Sticks?

Stuck in the Sticks? is an inspirational film created by young people from Eye Arts Club in Suffolk.

Stuck in the Sticks? explores challenges faced by young people living in the countryside. It looks at transport, mobile phone and broadband coverage - issues particularly important to 13 to 19 year olds in areas where many local activities are geared to children and young people's social lives rely on getting to local towns or using social media. Interviews with representatives from Suffolk Acre, Connexions and Suffolk County Council bring different viewpoints and a historical perspective is given by older people talking about their experiences of growing up in Suffolk villages and hamlets in the I 940s and '50s, Illustrated with archive film. While investigating problems such as the closure of a local youth club, the film ends with inspiring examples of young people taking on projects to change their communities for the better.
